THE NEBRASKA STATE JOURNAL (Lincoln, Nebraska newspaper); Saturday, 30 April 1938:
OGARD SUIT SETTLED.OMAHA (AP). Federal Judge Donohoe directed a verdict in favor of the Otis Elevator company Friday in a $25,000 damage suit brought against it by Mrs. Anna B. Ogard of Fremont, in connection with the death of her husband a year ago in a fall down an elevator shaft in the Fremont court house. She charged the company, which had a contract for elevator maintenance, was negligent. The company replied Ogard fell in the shaft when he went to the courthouse on Sunday and opened an elevator door without permission."
After Andrew Ogard's death, his widow Anna apparently married a Mr. Megli, because her name appears in cemetery records as Anna Ogard Megli. Harry H. Megli was probably the name of her second husband, because he was the only Megli living in Nebraska at the time of the World War I draft registration (1917/1918).
